National Pharmacy Week (NPW) is observed by the Indian Pharmaceutical Association (IPA), a professional body for pharmacists in India across the country to create awareness about the pharmacy profession, the role of the pharmacist amongst the public to promote rational use of medicines. During this year, the NPW was celebrated from November 19 to November 25. Various activities such as exhibitions, lectures for the public, street plays, and rallies etc. were conducted at B.S. The aspiring young leaders of the BBA department initiated, planned and executed the annual management festival. The students aptly called it Blaze. From conceptualization to planning, costing and budgeting, approvals and managing the live event,  the students took complete responsibility. Each team made sure that their event hit it off with the participants and audience. The blaze was planned as a blend of learning, testing, challenges, and fun. The day began with a smart “ Corporate Walk”. In which students competed with each other. The skills they learned in STEP classes were put to the test. It is the birth anniversary of a great teacher Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, who was a constant believer of education and was a well-known diplomat, scholar, philosopher, the President of India and above all, a teacher. Thereafter, he served as the country’s President between 1962 and 1967. Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, because of his reputation as a distinguished scholar, believed that teachers have the best minds in the nation. When some of his friends and students approached him with the idea of organizing a birthday party for him, he instead told them that he would be honored if that day is used to celebrate teachers in the country. In Feb. 2017, the department of civil engineering organised a five days engineering survey camp for the B.Tech 3rd year students. The purpose of organising survey camp is to relate the class room learning with real world situations. It also provides the students an opportunity to feel the difference between theoretical knowledge and practical work and therefore develop a quality in the students by virtue of which they will be able to make a bridge between the two different aspects of engineering education. They learn the essential knowledge of different surveying techniques relevant to their professional and real work practice in civil engineering.
